Over the many years we have been selling safety pool covers on the internet, the requests for a pool cover reel that will work with a mesh cover with straps and springs or a solid cover with straps and springs have been numerous. There has not been (until now) an easy way for 1 person or 2 people to handle these type of covers. The Ameri-Spool changes all that, for good! Now, your cover can be placed on the pool or removed in a few short minutes!
Let's face it, mesh and solid safety covers were not designed for ease of use. They were designed primarily for safety and storage. The idea was to put them on the pool at the end of the swimming season and remove them in the Spring. They are bulky, heavy, and difficult to handle. With the Ameri-Spool pool cover reel, it's now easy to handle them. Safety covers now can be used as day use covers because the Ameri-Spool makes it possible.
The unique design allows the straps, springs, & buckles on the leading edge of the cover to be inserted within the tube of the reel and keeps them from interfering and creating alignment issues. This allows the cover to roll up and unroll easily and evenly. The Ameri-Spool is an idea whose time has come! This is not the typical design you'll see used on solar covers (although solar covers will work on our reel). This product was designed to deal with the unique challenges that come with owing a safety pool cover.

Assembly:
Below are instructions for setting up your Ameri-Spool
- Lay Center Spool (the slightly larger) on ground with storage holes facing up and position Outer Spools at either end making sure the 3 equally spaced 5/8” holes at one end of each Outer Spool are at the far end.
- For a 16’ wide pool, slide Outer Spool in Center Spool until the last of the 3 approx. 5/8” diameter indexing holes (for an 18’ wide pool use the middle indexing hole, and for a 20’ wide pool use the 1st indexing hole) on the Outer Spool lines up with the first indexing hole in the Center Spool.

Safety Cover Installation and Removal Instructions
Follow these instructions when installing and removing your Pool Spool
1. To remove a safety cover:
Position the PoolSpool at one end of the pool. If the Safety Cover has a step-section on one end, it may be easier to start from the opposite end.
2. Next:
Insert end springs into storage holes and start rolling the cover up. The springs and straps along the side of the Safety Cover may be folded back and rolled up while holding them parallel to the PoolSpool. If there is a step-section along the side of the Safety Cover, it may be folded back and the straps and springs folded back again towards the edge of the Safety Cover and held parallel to the PoolSpool while it is being rolled up.
3. To install a safety cover already on the PoolSpool:
Reverse the above procedure.
4. To install a new safety cover:
Spread it out right side up on a flat surface and position the PoolSpool at one end. If the Safety Cover has a step-section on one end, it may be easier to start from the opposite end. Continue as in 2. above. When the Safety Cover is rolled up, move it to the pool area for installation.
