For more severe cases, follow these steps:
- Prepare a solution of no more than 1/2 cup non-chlorine bleach and 1/4 cup natural soap per gallon of water at approximately 100 degrees F.
- Soak your fabric in this solution for twenty minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry.
Important Note
Excessive soaking in non-chlorine bleach can deteriorate sewing threads and also
remove some of the water repellency. You should apply an air-curing fluorocarbon
water repellent treatment such as 303 Hi-tech Fabric Guard if water repellency
is a factor.
