Vinyl Sun Dome Features
Covering your swimming pool with a vinyl-topped Fabrico Sun Dome can greatly increase your swim season. Vinyl pool domes create a greenhouse effect which heats and warms the enclosed pool/spa area. The solar cover properties of the dome can increase air temperature by up to 40°F and water temperature by up to 20°F! Vinyl domes also cut any wind chill factor to zero, increasing the apparent temperature of your swimming environment.
Above-ground pool domes also act as a cover for your pool. The vinyl skin protects your pool from any leaves, bugs, or debris which might otherwise land in the pool. Moreover, because your pool is protected, you cut down on the use of chemicals and expensive cleaning costs. Cleaning time is also drastically reduced since the pool no longer needs to be skimmed upon entry.
Construction and Materials
The vinyl cover is constructed out of 12-mil, double polished, clear vinyl and welded together using RF vinyl welding for strength. The frame is made of 1" diameter polished aluminum tubes and each support is united with the cast aluminum spider at the dome's apex. Attaching the dome varies depending on the application (See the Above-Ground, Soft-Side, Inground, or Spa & Hot Tub section for details). At the base of the dome, a Neoprene shock chord runs through grommets in the vinyl skin and secures the enclosure over your pool.
