Pickleball Ameri-Dome L-Zipper

The pickleball dome package uses an L-Zipper entry and includes a spare L-Zipper panel for future service. The replacement panel snaps into place when the original entry zipper needs service.

Replacement Note

The cutting step is only needed when replacing the original L-Zipper. If a replacement zipper panel is already installed, remove that panel and follow the snap-in and stitching steps for the new panel.

1 Prepare the Panel

  1. Deflate the dome.
  2. Lay the L-Zipper panel as flat on the court surface as possible.
  3. Check the zipper pull direction before the replacement panel is snapped into place.

2 Cut the Old Zipper

  1. Use scissors or a single-edge razor blade.
  2. Cut the old zipper only where it is sewn into the reinforced material.
  3. Do not cut into the reinforced material or any other part of the dome.

3 Snap in the Replacement

  1. Trim loose threads so they do not interfere with the new zipper.
  2. Fish the new L-Zipper panel under the old zipper area.
  3. Snap the replacement zipper panel into place.

4 Stitch the Perimeter

  1. Use a heavy upholsterer’s needle and monofilament fishing line.
  2. Stitch around the perimeter about 1/4 in. from the edge of the new zipper panel.
  3. The stitching helps keep the snaps from popping loose in wind and improves the air seal.
