Pickleball Ameri-Domes

Pickleball Ameri-Dome Water-Ballast Anchoring

Use the water-ballast system to hold the dome perimeter in place and limit side-to-side movement. The dome is built with a vinyl sleeve above the water tube so the tie-down connection can be made around the court perimeter.

Perimeter Water Tube

  1. Lay the water tube around the dome base at the intended court footprint.
  2. Fill the tube so it sits firmly against the perimeter.
  3. Check that the dome base stays aligned with the court edge before tying it back.

Vinyl Sleeve and PVC Insert

  1. Locate the vinyl sleeve on the outside of the dome above the water tube.
  2. Slide a 4 ft. or 5 ft. length of 1 in. or 1-1/4 in. PVC pipe through the sleeve.
  3. Use the PVC section as the tie-down point so the pull is spread across the sleeve.

Anchor Spacing

  1. Place anchor points no more than about 5 ft. apart around the perimeter.
  2. Match the tie-down rope and PVC lengths to the finished court layout.
  3. Keep each tie-down snug enough to hold position without pulling the dome wall out of shape.

Site Attachment

  1. Choose the attachment method that matches the court surface.
  2. Use existing brass anchors, eyebolts with concrete anchors, or stakes.
  3. Keep the pull direction low and consistent around the perimeter.

Anchoring Methods

Set up one of these methods around the dome perimeter after the water tube and PVC inserts are in position.

Method 1: Existing Brass Anchors

  1. Confirm the brass anchors are usable and spaced close enough for the dome perimeter.
  2. Run the tie-down line from the brass anchor to the PVC insert in the vinyl sleeve.
  3. Tighten the line so the water tube stays in place without distorting the sleeve.

Method 2: Eyebolts and Concrete Anchors

  1. Set concrete anchors around the court perimeter where tie-down points are needed.
  2. Install eyebolts in those anchors.
  3. Connect each eyebolt to the PVC insert in the sleeve and tighten the line evenly.

Method 3: Stakes

  1. Use stakes only where the site allows a secure stake point outside the dome perimeter.
  2. Set the stakes so the tie-down line pulls against the PVC insert, not directly against the vinyl.
  3. Check the perimeter after tensioning so the water tube still follows the court footprint.
