ASTM F1346Safety-Cover Performance Standard
ASTM F1346 sets performance and labeling requirements for safety covers intended to restrict young children’s access to pool water. Correct fit, secure attachments, and proper drainage are essential. Follow your cover’s installation instructions, keep children and pets off the cover, and remove it completely before swimming.
The year and cover number help identify your existing cover before we review a replacement.
Where to Find the Number
Check beneath the warning label. Look for the year and cover number when you can safely handle the cover. Keep the label attached.
Check your warranty paperwork. Your original paperwork may also list the serial number.
Copy the number exactly. Include the year, letters, and separators. Keep a clear photo with your paperwork.
Missing Paperwork or a New Home?
Moved into a home with an existing cover? Gather the pool address, any original owner information, and paperwork left with the property. We can review what you have and explain what else is needed.
Keep your existing cover and hardware until we confirm the replacement details. Tell us about moved anchors, deck work, new steps, or changes to an attached spa that could affect the fit.
Can’t find the number? Select “I can’t find the number” in the replacement request and enter your approximate pool width and length in whole feet to request a shipping box. Call 800-982-6966 if you need help.
Request Your Rayner Replacement Quote

What to Include in Your Request
Cover identification: copy the year and cover number, or the serial number on your paperwork. If it is missing, select the checkbox and enter approximate pool dimensions for a shipping box.
Contact and pool address: include your name, email, phone, and pool address. Use your existing Ameri-Brand account email if you have one.
Material and color: tell us what you have now and what you want for the replacement, including any drainage change.
Damage and pool changes: describe worn fabric or hardware, moved anchors, deck work, or changes to steps, walls, or an attached spa.
How We Check Your Replacement
1
Review your cover information. We review your cover number or existing cover and explain any additional information or measurements needed.
2
Confirm material and drainage. We review your preferred fabric, color, and water-management setup. Switching between mesh and vinyl needs a drainage review.
3
Check the fit and attachments. We review the anchor layout against the pool or deck changes you report, including any need for updated measurements.
4
Review your free quote. You receive the replacement details and price before ordering, with no obligation to buy.
These photos show the same pool before and after cover replacement. We’ll review your cover’s condition, pool features, and anchor layout with your request.

Rayner Mesh and Solid Vinyl Options
Safety Mesh and Mighty Mesh drain through the fabric. Solid vinyl keeps more debris out, with a pump or mesh drain for water management.
Safety Mesh and Mighty Mesh
Mesh lets rain and melted snow drain into the pool without pumping water from the cover. It is lighter to handle than solid vinyl.
Safety Mesh is the standard mesh option.
Mighty Mesh has more strands per inch and more black strands for enhanced UV resistance.
Both are reinforced with webbing on the top and bottom.
Solid Vinyl
Solid vinyl helps keep debris out of the pool and is heavier than mesh. Its water-management setup needs attention while the cover is installed.
Select a cover pump or a mesh drain for water removal.
Keep the drain clear and address standing water promptly.
Review the drainage arrangement before changing from mesh.
Rayner Materials and Colors Compared
Compare fabric protection, handling, drainage, colors, and limited warranty coverage for your replacement.
Reading the figures: percentages describe fabric UVA/UVB protection, not total sunlight blockage. A mesh drain interrupts solid fabric coverage.
Weight and color: exact fabric weights in ounces per square yard are not published in the available Rayner specifications. Colors shown are approximate. Confirm material, color, drainage, and the applicable warranty with your replacement quote.
Our limited warranty: Safety Mesh has a 30-year maximum; Mighty Mesh has a 15-year maximum; solid vinyl has 10 years. The first 3 years cover qualifying material or workmanship defects without a cover charge. Later years are prorated. See coverage details and exclusions.
Construction, Care and Warranty
Protect the fabric, keep water draining, and understand your warranty coverage.
Care While Installed and in Storage
Rayner reinforces its mesh and solid vinyl covers with webbing on both sides. Regular care protects the fabric and attachments.
Inspect the Cover
Check for tears, worn straps, and damaged hardware. Follow the installation instructions and arrange repairs promptly.
Clean Gently
Use mild detergent and a soft broom. Avoid pressure washing and dragging the cover across the deck.
Manage Water
Maintain the instructed pool water level and remove standing water from solid vinyl promptly.
Store Clean and Dry
Keep the cover away from chemicals, moisture, and rodents. Leave spring sleeves in place to protect the fabric.
Coverage applies to qualifying material or workmanship defects after inspection, for the original purchaser at the original pool address. The factory ship date starts the warranty period. Improper installation, misuse, and neglect are excluded.
During prorated coverage, you pay part of the then-current manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Duplicate covers include a 10% handling, strap mapping, and disposal charge. Freight, installation, service, and labor are excluded.
Suspect a manufacturing defect? Call 800-982-6966 with your cover number, paperwork, and photos before ordering or shipping the cover.
Rayner Pool Cover Replacement Questions
How much does a Rayner replacement pool cover cost?
The price depends on your cover’s size, shape, material, and replacement requirements. Send your cover information and tell us about pool or deck changes. We’ll review the details and provide a free, no-obligation quote before you order.
Can I replace a Rayner cover without the serial number?
Yes. Select “I can’t find the number” in the replacement request and enter your approximate pool width and length in whole feet to request a shipping box for your existing cover. Keep the cover until we provide shipping instructions. See our Copy Cat replacement pool cover program for how an existing cover can serve as the replacement template.
Is the cover number enough to place an order?
The number starts the review. We still need to confirm the replacement specification and any pool or deck changes. We’ll let you know if additional information or measurements are needed.
Can I use my existing anchors?
Tell us about the anchor layout and any moved or damaged hardware. We’ll review the layout and hardware requirements before ordering. A number alone does not confirm the current condition of the anchors.
Can I change material or color?
Include your preference in the request. A change between mesh and solid vinyl affects drainage and handling, so we’ll review it for your cover layout. See the material and color comparison.
What if I moved into a home with an existing cover?
Look for the year and cover number beneath the warning label, then gather any warranty or order paperwork left with the home. If you cannot find it, call 800-982-6966 with the pool address and original owner information if known.
Does requesting a quote commit me to an order?
No. The replacement quote is free and carries no obligation. Review the cover details and price before deciding to order.
Is this form for automatic pool covers?
This page covers seasonal mesh and solid vinyl safety covers. For an automatic cover, use our automatic pool cover replacement guide or call us to discuss your system.
